NFL Era Draft

How to play Era Draft

Era Draft fixes one sim era each day - a decade whose style shapes the whole season - and hands you a wheel of franchise eras. Each spin lands on a real team from a real decade, the 1990s Cowboys or the 1970s Steelers, and you draft any one player from that roster into an open slot. Ten slots: a quarterback, a running back, two wide receivers, a tight end, an offensive lineman, a defensive lineman, a linebacker, a defensive back and a kicker. A man drafted out of position is taxed, and a man drafted from far outside the sim decade is taxed harder - the chips show every hit before you commit. You get two respins for the whole draft, and you can respin a respin. The tenth pick sims the season on the spot: a 14-, 16- or 17-game schedule depending on the era, a single-elimination bracket if you win half your games, and a fictional record beside a clear disclaimer. Your first run of the day is the scored one; after that, practice redrafts are unlimited until midnight.

Era Draft strategy and tips

  • Read the sim era before your first pick. A 1970s sim weights the run game and run defense; a 2010s sim is won through the air.
  • Draft in-era men where you can. The era tax compounds across ten slots, and a 1960s back in a 2020 sim gives up close to 40% of his value before kickoff.
  • Position matters more than the name. A great receiver playing tight end keeps most of his value; a receiver at linebacker keeps three quarters of it.
  • Do not forget the kicker. The tenth slot decides the close games, and a lineman trying field goals is worth half a real one.
  • Save a respin for the back half. The defensive slots are where a bad wheel hurts most.
  • Anchors lift the whole side. An OFF anchor raises the passing and running game together; a DEF anchor does the same for the defense.

About Era Draft

Era Draft is sacked.gg's daily NFL fantasy sim, built on our own player database. Every franchise-era roster on the wheel is real - the men who wore that jersey in that decade - and every rating is sacked's own read of a player's seasons inside that decade, derived from Approximate Value, honors and his peak season's box-score line, never a career average smeared across eras. The season itself is a simulation and every result it prints is fictional; the page says so wherever a record appears. There is no coach to draft, because sacked holds no coaching data and nothing here is written from memory: the tenth spin is a kicker instead, a real slot the box scores support. The wheel is shared - everyone spins the same cells on the same day - so two players comparing drafts are comparing decisions, not luck.

FAQ

Are the ratings real stats?

No. The roster sheet shows identity only - position, era tax, tags and rings. The ratings behind the sim are sacked's own assessment derived from real seasons, and every surface that prints one says so.

Is the season result real?

No. It is a simulation seeded per day and per player, and everything it prints - the record, the bracket, the awards - is fictional. The disclaimer sits beside every result.

Why is there no coach?

sacked holds no coaching data, and nothing on this site is written from memory. The tenth spin drafts a kicker instead, which the box scores do support and which decides the close games.

What do the respins do?

A respin re-deals the current spin from the shared daily wheel, so everyone who respins that spin sees the same replacement. You get two for the whole draft and can spend both on the same spin.

How do I win?

Win half your games to make the playoffs; the day counts as a win from there. The perfect season is the grail, and a title fires the Ring season stamp.
