NFL Two-Minute Drill

How to play Two-Minute Drill

Two-Minute Drill puts sixteen NFL players on a four-by-four board under a single category - career rushing yards, sacks, Pro Bowls, Super Bowl rings, whatever the day asks. Every player hides his number in that category. Tap Start and the clock runs for twenty seconds. Pick one player in the top row, then one in each row below, and every pick has to stay within one column of the pick above it - straight down or one step diagonal. Your score for the board is the sum of the four hidden numbers, shown as a percentage of the best connected path on that board. The values appear at the buzzer along with the optimal path drawn in teal. Five boards a day, easy to hard, and averaging sixty percent or better of optimal wins the day.

Two-Minute Drill strategy and tips

  • Read the whole board before your first tap. The top-row pick decides which columns you can ever reach, so a big name in row four is worthless if row one sends you the other way.
  • Think in totals, not names. A durable eleven-year starter often out-counts a brighter three-year star in any career category.
  • Know the shape of the category. Career games played rewards longevity, career sacks rewards edge rushers, and receptions rewards slot receivers and running backs who caught everything.
  • A locked pick beats an empty row. If the clock is dying, tap the best legal cell you can see - a timeout only scores the picks you locked.
  • Boards get harder. The early boards spread the values wide so the path is obvious; the last two pack similar players together and reward real knowledge.
  • One legal step at a time. Diagonals are allowed, jumps of two columns are not, and the rails on the board always show exactly where you can go.

About Two-Minute Drill

Two-Minute Drill is sacked.gg's daily NFL path puzzle, built on our own player database of career totals from the 1960s to today. Every board is generated from real, ingested statistics: the generator draws sixteen recognizable players for a category, deals them onto the grid, and computes the best connected path so your score is always measured against a verified optimum. Boards are checked for fairness before they ship - a board whose two best paths are a rounding error apart is thrown out, and no player returns within two weeks. The clock makes it a reflex game as much as a knowledge game: you know the answer, the question is whether you can see it in twenty seconds.

FAQ

What counts as a legal path?

One player per row, top to bottom, and each pick must be in the same column as the pick above it or one column to either side. A move two or more columns across is illegal and the board simply will not let you make it.

What happens if the clock runs out?

The board is scored on the picks you locked. Two picks worth a quarter of the optimal total score as twenty-five percent, and an empty board scores zero. The clock only starts when you tap Start, so read the board first.

Are the hidden numbers real?

Yes. Every value is a career total or honor count from our player database, ingested from Pro Football Reference. Ratings, opinions and estimates never appear on a board.

How is the day won?

Your day score is the average of your five board percentages. Sixty percent or better of optimal wins, and a perfect day - every board at one hundred percent - earns the Perfect Drive stamp.
