Crowd Favourite is a board of hidden answers to one question, ranked with the best-known player at the top and the least obvious at the bottom. Search a player and select him; if he is on the board his row flips open and shows what he is worth, which is how well known he is relative to the others. You have three lives. A name that is not on the board costs one of them, but naming somebody you have already found costs nothing - the board is right in front of you and losing track of it is not the skill being tested. The round ends when you clear the board or run out of lives, and everything you missed is revealed. Reveal half the board and the day is a win. The board shows only the best-known answers to the question; many more players usually qualify, and the count underneath tells you how many.
Crowd Favourite is sacked.gg's take on the guess-the-top-answers shape made familiar by Family Feud, with which it is not affiliated, adapted for football. It shares one scoring model with Deep Cut, used the right way up here and inverted there, so the two games can never disagree about which players are obvious. An important piece of honesty: there is no fan survey behind this. We have not asked a hundred people anything, and nothing in the game claims we have. The number on each row is an obviousness score derived from the recognizability score already used to build our eligible player pool, weighted on relationship questions by how much of a career was spent on the answer, and ranked within each question's own answer list. Questions are computed directly from the player database, never repeat within 90 days, and the sibling games never ask the same question on the same day.
Did you actually survey 100 fans?
No. The number on each row is our own estimate of how obvious an answer is, computed from our player database - not a poll. The game says so on the board rather than implying a survey we never ran.
Why is a better player ranked below a worse one?
Because the board ranks recognition, not quality. A modern star will usually outrank a more accomplished player from the 1970s, and that is the game working as intended.
Does a repeated name cost a life?
No. Only a name that is not on the board costs a life. The board is visible, so charging for losing track of it would punish bookkeeping rather than knowledge.
Are these all the players who fit the question?
No - the board holds only the six best-known answers. The line underneath tells you how many players fit that question in total, which is usually far more.
How do I win?
Reveal half the board. That is deliberately generous, and it keeps the daily sweep achievable alongside the other games.
Player stats, rosters, and career data reflect the most recently completed NFL season until the new season is underway.
